Typically the structure of the horn mounting and the elevator bevels place the clevis pin holes well behind the center of the hingeline.this is undesireable, and causes cable slackening at large control throws.
Long control horn fittings like the one found in the du-bro #867 control horn kit allow the clevis pins to line up with the hingeline.
No matter where the cable exit quides are, the proper geometry can be found. remember to keep a 90 degree ancle between the cable run and the "real" ancle of the control horn.
